Is your vertical blind wand lost, snapped, or just not working properly? Regain full and effortless control of your blinds with our universal replacement operating wand. This essential spare part is designed to clip seamlessly into most standard vertical blind headrails, restoring smooth operation for tilting and pulling your blinds with ease.

A quick, simple, and cost-effective solution to avoid replacing the entire blind set.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • UNIVERSAL COMPATIBILITY: Features a standard flexible hook at the top designed to clip onto the control mechanism of the vast majority of vertical blind headrails found in UK homes.

  • STRONG & DURABLE CONSTRUCTION: Made from high-quality materials, this wand is built to resist bending and snapping, providing a reliable and long-lasting replacement for flimsy original parts.

  • EASY TO INSTALL IN SECONDS: No tools required! Simply unclip the old, broken wand and snap the new one into place. It’s a foolproof DIY fix that takes moments.

  • ERGONOMIC GRIP HANDLE: The bottom of the wand is designed for comfort, giving you a firm grip to easily tilt the vanes for light control or pull the blind open and closed.

  • AVAILABLE IN MULTIPLE LENGTHS: To ensure a perfect fit for your window, we offer this wand in several common sizes. Please measure your required length from the hook to the end of the wand before selecting.

  • COST-EFFECTIVE REPAIR: Breathe new life into your existing blinds. This affordable spare part saves you the considerable expense of purchasing a brand new blind system.

How to Choose the Correct Size:
To find the right length, measure your existing wand from the very top of the hook to the very bottom end. If you don’t have the old wand, a good rule of thumb is that the wand should end at waist height for easy access.

Measuring
TOOLS YOU NEED TO MEASURE VERTICAL BLINDS
  • A steel measuring tape
  • A pencil to mark and write your measurements
  • A worksheet to record your findings
  • A ladder (if necessary) for tall windows

HERE ARE SOME TIPS TO HELP YOU COME UP
WITH AN ACCURATE MEASUREMENT:
  • Do not mix up the height and width measurements when writing them down because interchanging them may result in a blind that doesn’t fit
  • if you are measuring for more than one window, don’t assume they are the same. go round each of them and record their individual measurements. slight variations you may encounter can make a huge difference in how the blinds fit.
    OUTSIDE RECESS

    • Measure the exact size of the area you would like the blind to overlap. to minimize light leakage we recommend that the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm each side.
    • The overlap at the bottom of the blind is a matter of personal choice but please take into account obstacles such as radiators.
    • Use a metal tape measure as cloth ones can stretch and bend therefore potentially giving you inaccurate measurements.

    INSIDE RECESS

This is the measurement you need to take if you want your blind to fit inside the window recess. measure the full width and height of the recess [the size of the hole if you like] and we will make the appropriate deductions to ensure a perfect fit.

    • Measure in 3 places for both the width and the drop, use the smallest measurements.
    • Don’t make any deductions, we will do that for you to ensure your blind fits perfectly.
    • Use a metal tape measure, cloth ones can stretch and give you inaccurate measurements.
    Fitting

please ensure you have the following that come with your vertical blind:

EXTRA EQUIPMENT YOU WILL NEED IN
    THE PROCESS:
    • top fix brackets x2
    • face fix bracket x2
    • hangers x1
    • allan key x1
    • stabilising chain x2
    • safety hook x1

    • a pencil
    • screws
    • drill with the correct bits
    • crossed head screw driver

    FACE FIX

You will need to position the brackets approximately 5cm from the ends where the headrail is to be positioned if more than 2 brackets are supplied, fit the additional brackets at equal spacing across the length of the blind. please ensure fixings are suitable for the wall/surface to which you are mounting the brackets.
face fixing hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate the headrail into position. secure headrail by tightening the short screw in the front of the bracket
    TOP FIX
You will need to measure the distance and mark down the section to allow for barriers like handles that protrude into the recess area. you will have to locate the brackets approximately 10cm from the ends where the headrail is to be positioned as this will clear the windows handle opener.  if more than 2 brackets are supplied, fit the additional brackets at equal spacing across the length of the blind. please ensure fixings are suitable for the wall/surface to which you are mounting the brackets.
Tilt and hook headrail into bracket at point. rotate the headrail into position until it clicks. to release the headrail, push the bracket at point.
