Detailed Analysis of Features & Benefits

1. Complete Light Blocking (Blackout)

  • The core feature of this fabric is its ability to create near-total darkness. The "B/O" in the name stands for "Blackout," confirming its primary function.

  • Benefit: Perfect for creating an optimal sleep environment in bedrooms (especially for children, light sleepers, or shift workers), enhancing viewing quality in home cinemas, and providing absolute privacy.

2. Premium Material (100% Polyester)

  • Polyester is chosen for its durability, dimensional stability, and resistance to fading.

  • Benefit: This ensures the blind retains its vibrant Teal colour and structural integrity over time, without sagging or stretching. It is also typically low-maintenance and easy to wipe clean.

3. Heavy-Weight & Dense Construction (360gsm / 0.50mm)

  • A weight of 360gsm is classified as a heavy-duty fabric. This high grammage is directly linked to its exceptional performance.

  • This density is what gives the blind its superior light-blocking ability, a luxurious drape, and helps it hang perfectly straight.

  • Benefit: Beyond blocking light, the thick fabric provides significant thermal insulation (helping to keep rooms warm in winter and cool in summer) and acoustic insulation (dampening external noise).

4. Versatile Sizing Options

  • The extensive range of available sizes makes it suitable for almost any window:

    • Width: Can be manufactured from a very narrow 250mm up to a substantial 2800mm wide.

    • Drop/Height: Can be made from 250mm up to 4000mm (4 metres), covering standard windows and very tall feature windows or doors.

  • Benefit: Offers tremendous flexibility for any room in the house, from small bathroom windows to large patio doors.

5. Aesthetic Appeal: Teal Colour

  • The colour "Teal" is a sophisticated and versatile choice. It sits between blue and green, often associated with calmness, serenity, and elegance.

  • Benefit: This colour can create a calming atmosphere in a bedroom, a stylish accent in a living room, or a bold design statement in a modern space, all while performing its functional blackout role.

Typical Applications

This fabric is ideal for any room where light control, privacy, and style are important:

  • Bedrooms: To promote better sleep by simulating nighttime darkness.

  • Nurseries & Children's Rooms: To encourage naps and later mornings.

  • Media Rooms & Home Cinemas: To eliminate glare and enhance screen contrast.

  • Living Rooms: To control glare on TVs and computers and protect furniture from sun fading.

  • Master Bedrooms: Where the teal colour can add a touch of luxury and calm.

Important Considerations for Purchase

  • Precise Measurement: For maximum blackout efficiency, it is crucial to measure your window recess accurately. An "inside mount" (recess fit) requires exact measurements, while an "outside mount" (overlapping the recess) helps eliminate light leaks around the edges.

  • Edge Leakage: Be aware that while the fabric is blackout, light can still enter through the small gaps at the sides of a standard blind. For complete darkness, consider adding side channels or guides to the blind system.

  • Care and Cleaning: Due to its weight and composition, gentle vacuuming with a brush attachment is recommended for dust. Spot cleaning with a damp cloth is usually suitable for marks. Always refer to the seller's specific care instructions.

Summary: The Adventure B/O Teal is a high-performance blackout fabric that combines exceptional functional benefits (total light control, insulation, privacy) with a stylish and modern Teal colour. Its heavy-duty construction promises durability and a premium feel, making it an excellent choice for both practical and aesthetic window treatment needs.

Measuring
TOOLS YOU NEED TO MEASURE VERTICAL BLINDS
  • A steel measuring tape
  • A pencil to mark and write your measurements
  • A worksheet to record your findings
  • A ladder (if necessary) for tall windows

HERE ARE SOME TIPS TO HELP YOU COME UP
WITH AN ACCURATE MEASUREMENT:
  • Do not mix up the height and width measurements when writing them down because interchanging them may result in a blind that doesn’t fit
  • if you are measuring for more than one window, don’t assume they are the same. go round each of them and record their individual measurements. slight variations you may encounter can make a huge difference in how the blinds fit.
    OUTSIDE RECESS

    • Measure the exact size of the area you would like the blind to overlap. to minimize light leakage we recommend that the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm each side.
    • The overlap at the bottom of the blind is a matter of personal choice but please take into account obstacles such as radiators.
    • Use a metal tape measure as cloth ones can stretch and bend therefore potentially giving you inaccurate measurements.

    INSIDE RECESS

This is the measurement you need to take if you want your blind to fit inside the window recess. measure the full width and height of the recess [the size of the hole if you like] and we will make the appropriate deductions to ensure a perfect fit.

    • Measure in 3 places for both the width and the drop, use the smallest measurements.
    • Don’t make any deductions, we will do that for you to ensure your blind fits perfectly.
    • Use a metal tape measure, cloth ones can stretch and give you inaccurate measurements.
    Fitting

please ensure you have the following that come with your vertical blind:

EXTRA EQUIPMENT YOU WILL NEED IN
    THE PROCESS:
    • top fix brackets x2
    • face fix bracket x2
    • hangers x1
    • allan key x1
    • stabilising chain x2
    • safety hook x1
    • wood screw x4
    • weight x1
    • a pencil
    • screws
    • drill with the correct bits
    • crossed head screw driver
    • tape measure (metal)
    FACE FIX

You will need to position the brackets approximately 5cm from the ends where the headrail is to be positioned if more than 2 brackets are supplied, fit the additional brackets at equal spacing across the length of the blind. please ensure fixings are suitable for the wall/surface to which you are mounting the brackets.
face fixing hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate the headrail into position. secure headrail by tightening the short screw in the front of the bracket
    TOP FIX
You will need to measure the distance and mark down the section to allow for barriers like handles that protrude into the recess area. you will have to locate the brackets approximately 10cm from the ends where the headrail is to be positioned as this will clear the windows handle opener.  if more than 2 brackets are supplied, fit the additional brackets at equal spacing across the length of the blind. please ensure fixings are suitable for the wall/surface to which you are mounting the brackets.
Tilt and hook headrail into bracket at point. rotate the headrail into position until it clicks. to release the headrail, push the bracket at point.
