Detailed Analysis of Features & Benefits

1. Superior Light Blocking (Blackout)

  • The primary purpose of this fabric is to create near-total darkness in a room. It is engineered to prevent virtually all external light from passing through.

  • Benefit: Ideal for bedrooms (especially for shift workers, babies, and light sleepers), home cinemas, and media rooms. Enhances sleep quality and improves picture quality on TVs and projectors.

2. High-Quality Material (100% Polyester)

  • Polyester is a durable, synthetic fabric known for its strength, resilience, and resistance to shrinking and stretching.

  • Benefit: Ensures the blind maintains its shape and appearance over time. It is also generally easy to clean and resistant to wrinkles.

3. Substantial Weight & Thickness (360gsm / 0.50mm)

  • A weight of 360gsm is very heavy for a blind fabric, indicating high quality and density.

  • This substantial weight contributes to its excellent blackout properties, provides a luxurious, heavy feel, and helps the blind hang straight and neatly.

  • Benefit: Acts as a significant barrier against light, noise, and drafts, offering improved thermal and acoustic insulation.

4. Extensive Size Range

  • The available sizing is very versatile:

    • Width: Can be made from a very narrow 250mm (e.g., for a small window or door panel) up to a very wide 2800mm.

    • Drop/Height: Can be made from 250mm up to 4000mm (4 metres), suitable for everything from standard windows to very tall patio doors or floor-to-ceiling windows.

  • Benefit: Offers flexibility for covering almost any window size in a residential setting.

5. Energy Efficiency

  • The thick, dense fabric provides a layer of insulation at the window.

  • Benefit: Can help retain heat in a room during winter and keep it cooler in summer, potentially reducing energy costs.

Typical Applications

This fabric is perfect for rooms where controlling light and privacy is essential:

  • Bedrooms: Master bedrooms, children's rooms, nurseries.

  • Media Rooms: Home cinemas, TV rooms, gaming rooms.

  • Shift Workers' Rooms: Creating a dark environment for daytime sleeping.

  • Living Rooms: For movie nights or to reduce glare on screens.

Important Considerations for Purchase

  • Measuring: For blackout blinds to be effective, exact measuring is critical. They often need to be fitted within the window recess (inside mount) or overlapping it significantly (outside mount) to prevent light leakage around the edges.

  • Light Leakage: Remember, no blind is 100% light-proof at the edges. The fabric itself blocks light, but small gaps at the sides, top, and bottom are inevitable unless sealed with special tracks or guides.

  • Cleaning: Due to its weight and composition, it is likely best suited to gentle vacuuming with a brush attachment or careful spot cleaning. Always check the manufacturer's care instructions.

Summary: The Adventure B/O Gold is a premium, heavy-duty blackout fabric designed for maximum light control, privacy, and insulation. Its robust specifications make it a high-quality choice for anyone serious about creating a dark and comfortable room environment.

Measuring
TOOLS YOU NEED TO MEASURE VERTICAL BLINDS
  • A steel measuring tape
  • A pencil to mark and write your measurements
  • A worksheet to record your findings
  • A ladder (if necessary) for tall windows

HERE ARE SOME TIPS TO HELP YOU COME UP
WITH AN ACCURATE MEASUREMENT:
  • Do not mix up the height and width measurements when writing them down because interchanging them may result in a blind that doesn’t fit
  • if you are measuring for more than one window, don’t assume they are the same. go round each of them and record their individual measurements. slight variations you may encounter can make a huge difference in how the blinds fit.
    OUTSIDE RECESS

    • Measure the exact size of the area you would like the blind to overlap. to minimize light leakage we recommend that the blind overlaps the window recess by at least 70mm at the top and 50mm each side.
    • The overlap at the bottom of the blind is a matter of personal choice but please take into account obstacles such as radiators.
    • Use a metal tape measure as cloth ones can stretch and bend therefore potentially giving you inaccurate measurements.

    INSIDE RECESS

This is the measurement you need to take if you want your blind to fit inside the window recess. measure the full width and height of the recess [the size of the hole if you like] and we will make the appropriate deductions to ensure a perfect fit.

    • Measure in 3 places for both the width and the drop, use the smallest measurements.
    • Don’t make any deductions, we will do that for you to ensure your blind fits perfectly.
    • Use a metal tape measure, cloth ones can stretch and give you inaccurate measurements.
    Fitting

please ensure you have the following that come with your vertical blind:

EXTRA EQUIPMENT YOU WILL NEED IN
    THE PROCESS:
    • top fix brackets x2
    • face fix bracket x2
    • hangers x1
    • allan key x1
    • stabilising chain x2
    • safety hook x1
    • wood screw x4
    • weight x1
    • a pencil
    • screws
    • drill with the correct bits
    • crossed head screw driver
    • tape measure (metal)
    FACE FIX

You will need to position the brackets approximately 5cm from the ends where the headrail is to be positioned if more than 2 brackets are supplied, fit the additional brackets at equal spacing across the length of the blind. please ensure fixings are suitable for the wall/surface to which you are mounting the brackets.
face fixing hook the back of the headrail into the bracket and rotate the headrail into position. secure headrail by tightening the short screw in the front of the bracket
    TOP FIX
You will need to measure the distance and mark down the section to allow for barriers like handles that protrude into the recess area. you will have to locate the brackets approximately 10cm from the ends where the headrail is to be positioned as this will clear the windows handle opener.  if more than 2 brackets are supplied, fit the additional brackets at equal spacing across the length of the blind. please ensure fixings are suitable for the wall/surface to which you are mounting the brackets.
Tilt and hook headrail into bracket at point. rotate the headrail into position until it clicks. to release the headrail, push the bracket at point.
